U.S. Congressman Ro Khanna plans to introduce a bill that would ban President Donald Trump, his family, and all members of Congress from trading cryptocurrencies and stocks.

The Democrat from California’s 17th congressional district says the measure aims to eliminate conflicts of interest in government.

Corruption Allegations

In an interview with MSNBC, Khanna raised serious concerns about Trump’s connections to the crypto market through his son’s project, World Liberty Financial (WLFI).

The congressman was particularly alarmed by Trump’s recent pardon of Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao.

“You have a foreign billionaire who was essentially engaged in money laundering,” Khanna said.

According to him, the entrepreneur “petitioned Donald Trump for a pardon after effectively funneling money to terrorists.”
